The Pitt, currently airing on HBO Max, is one of the network’s biggest shows to date. Following a group of medical staff as they navigate the emergency department in a Pittsburgh hospital.
The recurring characters have grown, shown their flaws, and had their moments of positivity throughout the seasons. The show does a great job of showing the pressure of real-life hospital jobs and how individuals react differently to the same situations.
So, now a question that has probably never been asked but deserves an answer is: what pizza toppings would each character choose?
Pizza toppings are highly subjective, but based on personality type and feelings, I feel like I have created good matches.

Dana Evans: Hands down, veggie. Nurse Evans runs the floor in the ER. She is the one who makes sure everything runs smoothly and the one who seemingly knows everything and everyone. Veggie is the perfect topping for her because it includes a bunch of vegetables, is good for you, and there is something about it that everyone will learn to love.
Dr. Frank Langdon. Dr. Frank Langdon is charming and a good leader, while also struggling with his own addiction. Supreme pizza would make him feel better and probably combines all his favorite things.
Dr. Cassie McKay: This doctor has also been dealing with her fair share of trauma and addiction troubles (a theme in this ER). I really don’t know why I feel like she would appreciate a good mushroom pizza, but I feel like she sticks with what she has always liked, and it’s a little out of the box but not really, perfect for her.
Dr. Melissa “Mel” King: Dr. Mel would, hands down, stick with the classic plain cheese. Nothing wrong with this choice; it is the safe choice, though. Never going to be bad, always going to more or less taste the same, no surprises. Everyone enjoys a good slice of cheese pizza, which is why Dr. Mel has decided to stick with it.
Dr. Trinity Santos– self-righteous, smart, and knows it, also a little broken inside. Dr. Trinity would 100% be a Hawaiian pizza girl. She genuinely likes it but also gets defensive when people sayit’ss gross.
Dr. Dennis Whitaker– Dr. Whitaker has been through a lot, almost too much for even a fictional medical professional in a high-stakes ER to endure. His topping of choice would be chicken. At first, I thought you would think it wouldn’t be good, but it actually is always pretty good. Don’t dress it up with BBQ sauce or ranch; just chicken will do.
Dr. Samira Mohan– Classy, conceited, thinks she’s better than you while being afraid to ask for help. Only a fancy pizza would suit Dr. Mohan, something with arugula and prosciutto. Something you won’t find at a local pizza shop.
Now, sure, I could be wrong, and my reasoning could make no sense. But deciding what the characters on The Pitt would choose as pizza toppings is fun and makes the show, which covers very serious things, seem less scary.
