Ride or Die: Actors We’d Love to See in a Thriller Buddy Show

Ride or Die featured image imagining the stars we'd love to see team up in a thriller buddy series, highlighting the kind of premium entertainment that makes brands advertise on streaming.

Ride or Die, Amazon Prime’s newest mini-series starring Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham, has a classic formula for a show: an assassin who is a part of a secret agency is uncovered when she makes a lifelong friendship with someone who also has secrets of their own. The two then become a pair and go on a mission.

The show flows well; the storyline, albeit not super original, is fun and interesting enough to keep me engaged. The duo works well together, both accomplished actresses, and they seem to be having fun. I give the chemistry between the two a 6 out of 10; they bounce back and forth well, but I believe it is because they are just good at what they do.

This leads me to my question: what other pair would do really well in a buddy cop/crimal show?

Where to Stream: Ride or Die

  • Prime Video

The first pair I think audiences would love to see together would have to be a pair we have never seen together. Think outside the box. Think Leonardo DiCaprio and Jim Carrey.

One is known for funny roles, and one is known for more serious roles. But together, I think they would bounce back and forth well; it would be an interesting experiment.

The next pair, think actors from “hero” movies that have never been paired because maybe it was different franchises or they were filming at different times.

Chris Evans and Daniel Radcliffe

Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson

Both these actresses, I feel like, have similar ways of acting. Both can be a little funny at times but also tend to be serious and “smoldering.” Having them partner up and have to act off of each other would be fun and very different to see.

This pair both have played the good girl and the villain in multiple movies each. They both have an innocence about them where watching them play together.

Anne Hathaway and Jessica Alba

Holes. Disney Channel. Zendaya and Sigourney Weaver. This duo are strong leads and have acted in some major movies. Them together is so out of the blue it might actually be perfect.

Chris Hemsworth and James McAvoy

This pair I am surprised have never been together. Both from superhero movies (Thor, X-Men). Both have accents and can be sort of funny in their own way. Perfect.

There are plenty of well known actors and actresses that I would love to see in a Ride or Die style show. Let’s bring this fun to watch theme back to life.
